Eri J. Smith is a creator who's always determined to make art that's earnest, sweet, weird, and fun. They love what they make, and want people to feel that joy too in any art they do.
Notable features of their style include round, charming shapes and sketchy lineart.
Their dream is to be able to fully make and share characters and stories of their own one day!

"Three castaways wash up on an island together, all from different backgrounds, from different walks of life. Throughout their days together on this peaceful isle, they uncover the hidden truth behind its state and end up leaving it together with a newfound relationship with each other, and their sense of being. This, is the story of what happened."

Three people from different backgrounds - Mina, a bright young explorer, Lysander, a stubborn and driven warrior, and Sarah, a bubbly young woman who works at a spa - all wash up on a lush, magical island together. Welcomed and aided by a mysterious, free-spirited and kind deity, they all have fun, try new things, and come to new realizations about who they really are as people with new friends at their side - as well as stumble across and examine the island’s many mysteries.Island Reverie is a slice of life fantasy story about unconditional love, self-worth, found family, and knowing YOU (yes, you!) are worthy and enough.
Doing my best to finish it for a digital release in 2024!

E.J.Smith's own take on the classic Lewis Carroll narrative - Alice Liddell is an ordinary bookworm who's shy and skiddish when it comes to people. One day while at her librarian job, she's transported to another realm! Little by little, she overcomes her anxieties and makes friends with a mysterious, cat-like gentleman, a similarly introverted yet studious caterpillar, and a kooky hat enthuisast who insists on hosting tea parties every day.
It's a cozy, fun slice-of-life spin on Alice in Wonderland about found family, mental well-being, and what it means to be happy with oneself.
This is a story I'd love to make into a reality, i.e. a animated series one day. But for now, I hope you enjoy what art and anecdotes of these Wonderlandians I have to offer!

Art shown here is conceptual and from previous years (around 2021). Lulu's design is one I plan to change slightly!

Get ready for some insane angelic action!Lulu: Guardian Angel is a short animated film idea I had back in high school about a little angel that faces an opponent of...equally heavenly proportions?? The young little messenger anointed with the Brilliant Star, an ancient artifact of light and hope, is suddenly thrown into an intense encounter she has to fight her way out of!
Within the heat of battle though, she ends up realizing her foes are not what they seem...!
This is a short story I actually get to make into a reality this semester in college! I've chosen this story, one inspired by the works of Osamu Tezuka (i.e Astro Boy and Unico) and Yoh Yoshinari (Studio TRIGGER animator) to be my Capstone for the 2024 spring semester! All I can say is well... please look forward to it!
(And wish me luck...!)
